Helping You Fight Back Against Fire Ants

Once you detect signs of fire ants, it’s important to tackle them early on. They’re known for rapid colony expansion in short amounts of time, producing 100,000 to 500,000 ants per year in warmer climates.

Evergreen tackles fire ants using a granular insecticide that binds tightly to the soil. Compared to other treatments, our insecticide remains effective even in rainy seasons.

We’ll apply an annual treatment and provide season-long control, ridding your yard of fire ants and quenching their return.

How to Spot Fire Ants

A thriving fire ant mound is usually 10-24 inches across and 6-18 inches high. Fire ants will build mounds in any type of soil, but they favor sunny locations like lawns, fields, and along driveways and sidewalks, where more heat radiates.

If you aren’t seeing any mounds, it doesn’t mean fire ants aren’t currently on your lawn. They can create underground tunnel systems that stretch up to 25 feet from a mound.

How We Get Rid of Fire Ants for Good

Fire ants are a highly organized species, which is why it takes strategy to tackle them.

Treating just one mound won’t work—it only temporarily reduces the population. Fire ants rarely limit themselves to a single mound but are usually spread out among multiple satellite mounds nearby.

The queen ant is key to a colony’s survival. When she sees a threat, she can easily relocate and establish new mounds. Fire ants can also quickly rebuild in more favorable conditions, like warm East Texas weather, where colonies thrive.

So, how do you beat fire ants at their own game?

Evergreen utilizes a specialized treatment plan that simultaneously targets all existing colonies above and beneath the ground. Our granular insecticide creates a long-lasting barrier that penetrates deep into the soil to extinguish colonies and prevent new ones from appearing.
