Helping You Fight Back Against Fire Ants

Fire ants are an aggressive species that quickly multiply, spreading themselves across multiple colonies. In warm East Texas climates, fire ant colonies grow rapidly, sometimes from 100,000 to 500,000 ants yearly.

Evergreen helps you fight back against fire ants with our granular insecticide that binds to the soil of your yard and lasts all season long.

How to Spot Fire Ants

Fire ants thrive in sunny spots like lawns, fields, and near driveways and sidewalks where the concrete soaks up more heat. If you’re dealing with fire ants in your lawn, you’ll likely see mounds stretching from 10-24 inches across and 6-18 inches high.

If you aren’t seeing any mounds, it doesn’t mean your lawn is fire-ant-free. Fire ants also build tunnels underground, connecting other mounds that can be up to 25 feet away.

How We Get Rid of Fire Ants

At Evergreen, we take a strategic approach to tackling fire ants.

Since fire ants are rarely confined to one mound, treating them from the surface doesn’t always work. While it may temporarily reduce the population, queen ants can quickly relocate and create a new mound when threatened.

Evergreen defeats fire ants with our treatment plan, which targets all existing colonies above the surface and underground. We'll use granular insecticide penetrating deep into the soil to help prevent fire ants for calendar-year control.
